Links

In making this website I did a lot of internet research (because I don't like going to libraries, and to further reinforce my hypothesis that you can find absolutely anything on the internet), and figured I could save you some time by posting the most helpful sites here. Other websites I've had on my bookmarks list for years (or days, or whatever...quite frankly, I don't even know what day it is) but felt they were appropriate. In either case, I've notated them enough that you should be able to figure out if it's worth the time clicking the link (you lazy S.O.B...).

RPG Links

WarFactory - http://www.warfactory.co.uk
Dedicated to tabletop miniatures wargames in general.

Pinnacle's Weird Website - www.peginc.com
    Durrrr...

Dungeons & Dragons - www.wizards.com/dnd/
    Yet again - Durrrr...

Random Name Generator - www.kleimo.com/random/name.cfm
I know you're lazy about your role-playing (Otherwise you'd be making up your own crap for Weird Wars rather than reading my site, right?), so here's a great way to randomly pop out some NPC character names. It's always nice for a WM to have a big-ass list of names (s)he can use when the player's decide to be bastards and ask the name of every unimportant NPC the character's run in to.

Military History Links

Batallion Organisation during the Second World War - www.stormpages.com/garyjkennedy

An absolutely amazing site covering the organization of the major military powers during WWII, not counting Italy (like they counted as a "major military power" anyway). Better information than I found in books.

Feldgrau.com - The German Armed Forces 1919-1945 - www.feldgrau.com

All sorts of info on the German military.

France, 1940 - france1940.free.fr
Information on the French orders of battle in 1940, as well as those from 1940 on (including Morocco/Operation Torch information).

Although limited in WWII information, it does have an extremely good section on the Normandy landings.

Various essays on WWII tactics, including a handbook on German tactics put out by the War Department after WWII.

The Russian Battlefield - www.conknet.com/mrj
All sorts of WWII info, centered around the Russian/Eastern Front.

The Center For Military History - www.army.mil/cmh-pg
All sorts of information, online books, etc. from the US Army. You can get lost on this site.

WWII Articles Table of Contents - www.magweb.com/sample/ww2/ww2toc.htm
A selection of WWII articles from MagWeb.

WWII in Europe - www.teacheroz.com/WWIIEurope.htm
A link library for timelines, maps, and a million other topics regarding WWII.

En Pointe Toujuours - enpointe.chez.tiscali.fr/index.html
Excellent French site covering all sorts of France-in-WWII info.

51st Again! - www.51ecb.org/
Webpage for a combat engineer re-enactment group. I'm listing it here because it is the *only* website that I could find (after hours and hours of searching) that had battalion organization, and as an added bonus information on the duties of combat engineers. Kudos!

Component Elements of Divisions in World War II - www.army.mil/cmh-pg/lineage/cc/comp.htm
Yay for the US Army online site! This page lists the units found within various WWII divisions.

World War II Research & Reenacting - www.hardscrabblefarm.com/ww2/ww2_home.htm
Nice scans of WWII training manuals, various info from the time period, etc. A good place to get some info to add realism to your game.

World War II Plus 55 - www.usswashington.com/dl_index.htm
A good selection of history from 1941 through 1942 (I dunno if it's still being added to or not), mostly involving the USS Washington, but with all sorts of other good military history as well.

Weapons Links

Jaeger Platoon Website Library Section - www.ankkurinvarsi.net/jaeger/LIBRARY_MAINPAGE.shtml
Technical and historical data/information about a ton of WWII weaponry from all nations.

Panzerfaust - www.geocities.com/Augusta/8172/panzerfaust.htm
Good information on the German weapons of WWII.

The Military Rifle Journal - www.conknet.com/mrj
Various informative articles about rifles in general.

Vehicle Links

Second World War Armour - www.onwar.com/tanks/index.htm
Technical data for WWII armored vehicles. One of the sources I used for the vehicle data on this site.

Warbirds Resource Group - www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org
Excellent technical data (as well as all sorts of other information) about the planes of WWII. The only site that had any worthwhile information about French planes that I could find.

World War II Vehicles and Advanced Squad Leader - www.wwiivehicles.com/index.htm
Technical data aside, this was the site where I found nearly all of my vehicle information (for French vehicles). Very helpful if you want pictures and "descriptive" info.

WWII Tech - www.wwiitech.net/main/index.html
Mostly vehicle information, but it also has info on artillery pieces and other weapons.
